Steve Whitney is an independent software developer, with experience developing apps in Android, iOS, Unity 3D game engine. He writes in Java, Objective-C and C-Sharp (C#) among other languages.
His current focus is smart, fun educational apps for elementary school kids.

Steve has worked as a software developer at Silicon Valley companies such as Silicon Graphics (aka SGI) and Actuate.
He has also been a software development manager of teams up to 12.
Steve is a co-inventor of United States Patent 6516372 Issued February 4, 2003 Partitioning a distributed shared memory multiprocessor computer to facilitate selective hardware maintenance
He wrote an article about his work on the system software for the SGI Origin 2000 distributed shared memory multiprocessor computer in “The SGI Origin software environment and application performance,” COMPCON 1997 proceedings

He also has a number of years of experience managing a church staff and coordinating projects being done by volunteers.
Steve speaks Spanish (just don’t go too fast!) and loves singing and piano.
He’s happily married to Eleanor Mendoza Whitney and has three great kids.
